Or to drive people away from one thing to another, and those who incite the food market are from this.

النجش: أن تمدح سلعة غيرك ليبيعها، أو تذمها لئلا تنفق.

النجش: أن تزايد في المبيع ليقع غيرك، وليس من حاجتك.

والنجش: الإسراع، يقال: مر فلان ينجش نجشا، أي يسرع، نقله الجوهري، كالنجاشة، بالكسر.

And Al-Najsh: is hastening. It is said: So-and-so passed by, hastening, meaning he was fast. Al-Jauhari transmitted this, like Al-Najashah (with kasr).

والنجاشي: اسم ملك الحبشة، قال الصاغاني: هو تحريف، واسمه أصحمة.

And Al-Najashi: is the name of the King of Abyssinia. Al-Sagani said: It is a corruption, and his name is Aṣḥamah.

والنجاشي: الذي يثير الصيد ليمر على الصائد، كالناجش، قاله الأخفش، وزاد الأزهري: والمنجاش.

And Al-Najashi: is one who stirs up game to pass by the hunter, like Al-Najish, according to Al-Akhfash. Al-Azhar added: and Al-Minjash.

ويقال: نجشوا عليه الصيد، كما يقال: حاشوا.

And it is said: They incited the game towards him, just as it is said: They herded it.

والمنجش: الوقاع في الناس، الكشاف عن عيوبهم، عن ابن دريد، كالمنجاش.

And Al-Manjash: is the one who delves into people's affairs, exposing their faults, according to Ibn Duraid, like Al-Minjash.

وأنجشة، بفتح الجيم: مولى للنبي، صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان حاديا، وله قال صلى الله تعالى عليه وسلم: رويدك يا أنجشة بالقوارير، يعني النساء.

And Anjashah (with fath on the jim): is a freedman of the Prophet, peace be upon him, who was a camel driver. And to him the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Gently, O Anjashah, with the glassware, meaning the women.

والنجيش والنجاش: الصائد، عن ابن عباد، هكذا ذكره، والصواب أن النجاش هو المثير للصيد.

And Al-Najish and Al-Najash: are the hunter, according to Ibn Abbad. He mentioned it thus, and the correct view is that Al-Najash is the one who stirs up game.

قال الزمخشري: ومع الصائد ناجش، وهو الحائش، ونقل الأزهري: رجل نجاش ونجوش: مثير للصيد.

Al-Zamakhshari said: And with the hunter is a Najish, who is the one who herds. And Al-Azhar transmitted: A man Najash and Najush: is one who stirs up game.

والنجش: مدح الشيء وإطراؤه.

And Al-Najsh: is praising and extolling something.

وهو أيضا اختراع الكذب.

وقال أبو عمرو: النجاش: الذي يسوق الركاب والدواب في السوق، يستخرج ما عندها من السير.

Abu Amr said: Al-Najash: is one who drives the riding beasts and the animals in the market, extracting their capacity for speed.

والذي في العباب عنه: النجاش: الذي يسبق الركاب والدواب ينجش ما عندها من السير، ولعله تصحيف.

And what is in Al-Abab from him: Al-Najash: is one who precedes the riding beasts and the animals, extracting their capacity for speed, and perhaps it is a textual corruption.

وانتُجِشَ: أسرع، عن ابن الأثير.

And Intujisha: he hastened, according to Ibn Al-Athir.
