وأنشد: (يا رب قرم سرس عنطنط ... ليس بجعشوش ولا بأذوط)
And he recited: (O Lord, a noble man, stout and broad... not short and stout nor weak).
والجمع الجعاشيش، قال ابن حلزة: بنو لجيم وجعاشيش مضر.
And the plural is Al-ja'āshīsh. Ibn Hilzah said: The sons of Lujaym and the short and stout of Mudar.
كل ذلك يقال بالسين لأن السين أعم تصرفا، وذلك لدخولها في الواحد والجمع جميعا، فضيق الشين مع سعة السين يؤذن بأن الشين بدل من السين.
