And despite its strangeness and the contradiction within itself, he erred in it. He said this and followed Al-Saghani in his error, just as he followed Abu al-Qasim al-Hasan ibn Bishr al-Amidhi. For the correct form is: Abd al-Rahman ibn Marqas, as stated by Al-Amidhi, the author of Al-Muwazanah, and verified by Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, may God Almighty have mercy on him, in Al-Tabsir.

وإختلفوا في وزنه أيضا، فضبطه الحافظ: مرقس، كمحسن، وضبطه الآمدي كجعفر، فتأمل حق التأمل
