And the linguists said: 'Al-Firdaws, they are therein abiding eternally,' and it was feminized only because it referred to Paradise, which is rare, and thus the word 'qad' was used.
وفردوس: اسم روضة دون اليمامة، لبني يربوع بن حنظلة ابن مالك بن زيد مناة بن تميم
And Firdaws: the name of a meadow short of Al-Yamama, belonging to Banu Yarbu' bin Hanzalah bin Malik bin Zayd Manat bin Tamim.

And about it the poet says: (He yearns for Al-Firdaws, though separation is between them... and how far are the lands she settled in).

And Al-Fardasah: spaciousness, and from it is 'sadr mufradas', meaning wide, or from it is the derivation of Al-Firdaws, as narrated by Ibn Al-Qatta', and this supports it being Arabic, and also indicated by the saying of Hassan: (And the reward of Allah for every monotheist is gardens of Paradise wherein he shall abide eternally).
وفردسه: صرعه، وقال كراع: الفردسة: الصرع القبيح، يقال: أخذه ففردسه، إذا ضرب به الأرض، ونقله الصاغاني فنسبه إلى الليث.
And 'fardasahu': he threw him down, and Qura' said: Al-Fardasah: the ugly fall, it is said: he took him and 'fardasahu', meaning he struck him to the ground, and Al-Saghani narrated it and attributed it to Al-Layth.

And 'fardasa al-jallah': he filled it densely, and 'fardiyat' has been used, from Abu Amr.
