أي ألزم هذا الأمر إلزام الحلس الدبر، ككتف، يضرب للرجل يكره على عمل أو أمر.
Meaning, he was compelled to this matter like the Hils is compelled to the hindquarters, like 'kutuf', used for a man forced into a task or matter.
والمستحلس: الملازم للقتال.

وفلان من أحلاس الخيل، أي من راضتها وساستها والملازمين ظهورها.
And so-and-so is from the Ahlas of horses, meaning from those who train them, manage them, and persistently ride them.
