I do not know what this 'al-Hawz' is, and I do not know what 'al-Tamsh' is.

Al-Ahwaz: nine, thus with the ta' preceding the sin in the copies, but the correct reading is seven districts, with the sin preceding the ba', as is the text of al-Layth.
بين البصرة وفارس، لكل كورة منها اسم، ويجمعهن الأهواز أيضا
Between Basra and Fars, each district having a name, and Al-Ahwaz also encompasses them.
وهوز الرجل تهويزا: مات وكذلك فوز تفويزا، قاله ابن دريد.
And 'hawza al-rajul' (to die) with 'tahwīzan': he died, and likewise 'fawza' with 'tafwīzan', Ibn Duraid said.
