وبكرة، كزة، أي ضيقة شديدة الصرير، لضيقها.
And a pulley, kazzah, meaning tight and producing a loud squeak, due to its tightness.
وذهب كز: صلب جدا، أي يابس.
And kazz wood: very stiff, meaning dry.
وأكزه الله تعالى: رماه بالكزاز، فهو مكزوز، مثل أحمه فهو محموم.
And Allah afflicted him: He struck him with kazzaz, so he is mukzuz, like He afflicted him with fever, so he is feverish.
اكتز الرجل اكتزازا، إذا تقبض، وتقول: فلان لا يهتز، ولكنه يكتز.
The man contracted, contracted, when he became shrunken, and you say: So-and-so does not move, but rather he shrinks.
ويقال: جمل كز، أي صلب شديد.
And it is said: a kazz camel, meaning stiff and strong.
وخشبة كزة: يابسة معوجة.
And a kazzah piece of wood: dry and crooked.
وقناة كزة كذلك، وفيها كزز.
And a kazzah channel likewise, and in it is kazzaz (stiffness).
وكزت المرأة دملجها: ملأته بعضدها، وهو مجاز، قال الشاعر:
And the woman filled her armlet: she filled it with her arm, and this is figurative, the poet said:
يا رب بيضاء تكز الدملجا ... تزوجت شيخا طويلا عفشجا
O Lord, a white-skinned one who fills her armlet... married a tall, uncouth old man.
