The wound flowed and likewise the water flowed and oozed, like 'amīr: it flowed with its contents and moisture, and so did a fissure.
واستفزه الخوف: استخفه، وبه فسر قوله تعالى: واستفزز من استطعت منهم بصوتك، قال الفراء: أي استخف بصوتك ودعائك، قال: وكذلك قوله عز وجل وإن كادوا ليستفزونك من الأرض أي يستخفونك، وقيل: يفزعونك إفزاعا يحملك على خفة الهرب.
And fear made him light-headed: it made him light-headed, and by this is interpreted the Almighty's saying: 'And entice by your voice whoever you can among them,' Al-Farra' said: meaning, entice by your voice and your supplication. He said: And likewise His Almighty saying, 'And indeed they almost made you leave the land,' meaning, they made you light-headed, and it was said: they frightened you with a fright that would make you flee quickly.
استفزه: أخرجه من داره وأزعجه إزعاجا يحمله على الاستخفاف.
He provoked him: he drove him out of his house and agitated him with an agitation that would make him act rashly.
أفززته وأفزعته سواء، وفي بعض النسخ: أزعجته.
I startled him and I frightened him are the same, and in some versions: I agitated him.
(والدهر لا يبقى على حدثانه ... شبب أفزته الكلاب مروع)

And 'al-fuzz': the light man, as transmitted by Al-Zamakhshari and Ibn Manzur.

Like a frightened young wild bull seeking refuge in a thicket... fearing the eyes, so the crowd did not look at him.
وتفزز الرجل عني، هكذا في النسخ بالعين المهملة، وفي بعضها: تغنى والصواب كما في التكملة: غنى بالغين المعجمة.
And the man sang to me, thus in the manuscripts with the unpointed 'ayn, and in some of them: he sang, and the correct reading as in Al-Takmilah is: he sang with the pointed ghayn.
وافتز افتزازا: غلب، كابتز وابتذ، كذا في النوادر.
And he overcame with overcoming: he defeated, like 'ibtazza' and 'ibtadha', thus in Al-Nawadir.
عن ابن الأعرابي: فزفز، إذا طرد إنسانا أو غيره، ومقلوبه زفزف، إذا مشى مشية حسنة.
From Ibn Al-A'rabi: 'fazfaza', if he chased a person or something else away, and its inversion 'zafzafa', if he walked with a good gait.
يقال: تفاززنا، أي تبارزنا، هكذا بالراء قبل الزاي، في كثير من النسخ، والصواب بزاءين، وهو في النوادر.
It is said: 'tafazazna', meaning we dueled, thus with 'ra' before 'zay', in many manuscripts, and the correct reading is with two 'zayns', and it is in Al-Nawadir.
واستفزه: ختله حتى ألقاه في مهلكة.
And he lured him: he tricked him until he threw him into destruction.
واستفزه: قتله، هكذا نقله بعض المفسرين في تفسير قوله تعالى: ليستفزونك.
And he provoked him: he killed him, thus some commentators transmitted in the interpretation of the Almighty's saying: 'lest they provoke you'.
