وذلك أن يخلط الدم بأوبار الإبل، ثم يشوى في النار

فأقبح بهذا ويح نفسك من فعل
Then how ugly is this, woe to your soul, for such an action.
العلهز: الصوف ينفش ويشرب بالدماء ويشوى ويؤكل
Al-'Ilhaz: Wool that is fluffed up, soaked in blood, roasted, and eaten.
والناب المسنة علهز ودردح
And the old she-camel is 'Ilhaz and Dardah.
هي التي فيها بقية وقد أسنت
She is the one who has some remaining [strength] and has grown old.
العلهز: نبات ببلاد بني سليم، له أصل كأصل البردي
Al-'Ilhaz: A plant in the lands of Bani Sulaym, with a root like that of a papyrus.
ولا شيء مما يأكل الناس عندنا سوى الحنظل العامي والعلهز الفسل
And there is nothing that people eat among us except the common colocynth and the weak 'Ilhaz.
وليس لنا إلا إليك فرارنا وأين فرار الناس إلا إلى الرسل
And we have no refuge except to You, and where can people flee except to the Messengers.
