Or hear a sound from them.
الركز: بالكسر: الصوت، وقيل هو الصوت ليس بالشديد
Ar-rakz (with kasra): the sound, and it is said to be a sound that is not loud.
وهو صوت الإنسان تسمعه من بعيد، نحو ركز الصائد إذا ناجى كلابه
It is the sound of a human voice that you hear from afar, like the hunter's call when he whispers to his dogs.
وقد توجس ركزا مقفر ندس ... بنبأة الصوت ما في سمعه كذب
And he sensed a faint sound from a desolate place, hidden... with the slightest sound, there is no falsehood in what he hears.
قال: الركز: الصوت الخفي والحس
He said: Ar-rakz: the hidden sound and the sense.
الركز: الرجل العالم العاقل الحليم السخي الكريم
Ar-rakz: the knowledgeable, wise, forbearing, generous, noble man.
سمعت بعض بني أسد يقولون: كلمت فلانا فما رأيت له ركزة، أي ليس بثابت العقل
I heard some of the Banu Asad say: I spoke to so-and-so and found him not to have steadfastness, meaning he was not sound of mind.
وهو ما ركزه الله تعالى في المعادن، أي أحدثه وأوجده
And it is what Allah Almighty has fixed in the minerals, meaning He created and brought it into existence.
وهو التبر المخلوق في الأرض
And it is the gold dust created in the earth.
وجد ركزة على عهد عمر رضي الله عنه، فأخذها منه عمر
He found a treasure during the time of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, and Umar took it from him.
الركزة: القطعة من جواهر الأرض المركوزة فيها، كالركيزة
Ar-rakzah: a piece of the earth's gems embedded within it, like Ar-rakeezah.
والركاز دفين أهل الجاهلية، أي الكنز الجاهلي
And Ar-rikaaz is the buried treasure of the people of ignorance, meaning the pre-Islamic treasure.
وفي الركاز الخمس
And one-fifth of the Rikaaz (buried treasure/minerals) is due.
الركاز: المعادن كلها، فما استخرج منها شيء فلمستخرجه أربعة أخماسه ولبيت المال الخمس
Ar-rikaaz: all minerals, so if something is extracted from it, four-fifths belong to the extractor and one-fifth to the treasury.
الركاز: قطع عظام مثل الجلاميد من الفضة والذهب تخرج من الأرض أو من المعدن
Ar-rikaaz: large pieces like boulders of silver and gold extracted from the earth or from a mine.
والذي لا أشك فيه أن الركاز دفين أهل الجاهلية
And what I do not doubt is that Ar-rikaaz is the buried treasure of the people of ignorance.
وأركز الرجل: وجد الركاز
And Ar-kazah the man: he found Rikaaz.
أركز صاحب المعدن، إذا كثر ما يخرج منه له من فضة وغيرها
The owner of the mine found abundant yield, if much silver or other things came out of it for him.
يقال للرجل إذا أصاب في المعدن بدرة مجتمعة: قد أركز
It is said of a man if he finds a large sum in the mine: he has found abundant yield.
دخل فلان فارتكز في محله لا يبرح
So-and-so entered and remained fixed in his place, not moving.
ارتكز على القوس ارتكازا، إذا وضع سيتها على الأرض ثم اعتمد عليها
He leaned on the bow, if he placed its end on the ground and then relied on it.
وهو خطأ وصوابه بالكسر كما ضبطه الصاغاني: النخلة
And it is an error, and its correction, as Al-Saghani corrected it, is with kasra: the date palm.
النخلة التي تنبت في جذع النخلة ثم تحول إلى مكان آخر هي الركزة
The date palm that grows on the trunk of a palm tree and is then moved to another place is Ar-rakzah.
