Turbid: the opposite of clear, and it is 'akdar' and 'kadr', between 'kudura' and 'kadara'.

ويقال: عيش أكدر كدر، وماء أكدر كدر.

And it is said: a turbid, dull life, and turbid, dull water.

كدر الماء، بالكسر، يكدر كدرا فهو كدر، وكدر، كفخذ وفخذ، كذلك كدير، كأمير.

The water became turbid, with kasra, it becomes turbid (yakdar) with 'kadr', so it is 'kadr', and 'kadr', like 'fakhidh' and 'fakhidh', likewise 'kadir', like 'amir'.

And the man's color became dull, with kasra, according to Al-Lihyani, and it is said: so-and-so's life became dull and his livelihood became turbid.

ومننه: خذ ما صفا ودع ما كدر.

And from it: Take what is clear and leave what is turbid.

وهو كدر الفؤاد علي.

And he said once: or its turbidity: what floats on it like algae and the like, like 'aramad', and 'al-kudra' is also: the thin cloud that does not hide the sky, said Abu Hanifa, like 'al-kudri' and 'al-kudari', with dammah on both, and I have not seen anyone describe clouds with them.

وإن أصاب كدرا مد الكدر ... سنابك الخيل يصدعن الأير

And if it encountered a mound of earth stirred up by the hooves of horses that shatter the ground.

والكدرة أيضا: القبضة المحصودة المتفرقة من الزرع ونحوه، الكدر، محركة، قال ابن سيده: وحكاه أبو حنيفة.

And 'al-kudra' is also: the scattered handful of harvested crops and the like, 'al-kadr', with haraka, said Ibn Sidah: and Abu Hanifa narrated it.

انكدر يعدو: أسرع بعض الإسراع، وفي الصحاح: أسرع وانقض، ومنه قول العجاج في صفة البازي: أبصر خربان فضاء فانكدر

'Inkaddara' running: to move with some speed, and in Al-Sihah: to move quickly and swoop down, and from it is the saying of Al-A'jjaj in description of the falcon: He saw prey in an open space and swooped down.

انكدر عليه القوم: انصبوا أرسالا.

The people 'inkaddaru' upon him: they descended in groups.

وإذا النجوم انكدرت أي تناثرت.

And when the stars 'inkadarat' meaning they scattered.

أطعمنا الكديراء كحميراء: حليب ينقع فيه تمر برني.

We were fed 'al-kudayra' like 'humayra': milk in which Barni dates are steeped.

سميت لكدرة لونها.

It was named so because of the dullness of its color.

وحمار كدر بضمتين، وكندر وكنادر، بضمهما: غليظ، ويقال أتان كدرة.

And a donkey 'kadr' with two dammahs, and 'kundar' and 'kanadir', with dammah on both: thickset, and a female donkey 'kudra' is said.

والكدراء: د، باليمن شمالي زبيد ينسب إليه الأديم، وفي المعجم: هو من زاب تهامة اليمن، وهو ومور والمهجم من أعظم أودية اليمن.

And 'Al-Kadra': a place, in Yemen north of Zabid, to which leather is attributed, and in the dictionary: it is from the wadis of Tihama in Yemen, and it, Mawr, and Al-Mahjam are among the greatest wadis of Yemen.

And 'Al-Akdar': the flood that scrapes the face of the earth, narrated by Al-Saghani.

And the day your children called Abd Kaudar... and they thought they had crumbled tharid at the caller.

وكدر الماء يكدره كدرا، من حد نصر: صبه.

And 'kadar' the water 'yukdiruhu' with 'kadr', from the root 'nasara': to pour it.

والأكدرية في الفرائض: مسألة مشهورة، وهي: زوج، وأم، وجد وأخت لأب وأم، وأصلها من ستة، وتعول لتسعة، وتصح من سبعة وعشرين، قاله شيخنا.

And 'Al-Akdariyya' in Fara'id (inheritance law): a famous problem, which is: a husband, a mother, a grandfather, and a full sister, its origin is from six, it increases to nine, and it is valid from twenty-seven, said our Sheikh.

والكدر كعتل: الشاب الحادر الشديد القوي المكتنز.

And 'al-kadr' like 'a'tal: the robust, strong, powerful, and well-built young man.

وروى أبو تراب عن شجاع: غلام قدر وكدر، وهو التام دون المنخزل.

And Abu Turab narrated from Shuja': a boy 'qadr' and 'kadr', meaning complete without being deficient.

والكدارة، كثمامة: الكدادة، وهي ثفل السمن في أسفل القدر.

And 'al-kadara', like 'thamama': 'al-kaddada', which is the sediment of ghee at the bottom of the pot.

And the road of 'Al-Munkadir': the road from Yamama to Mecca, may God ennoble it.

And 'Al-Kadr', its apparent meaning suggests it is with fatha, and Al-Saghani vocalized it with dammah and said: a place near the city, eight barid away from it.

وكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خرج إلى قرقرة الكدر لجمع من سليم فوجد الحي خلوفا، فاستاق النعم، وكانت غيبته فيه خمس عشرة ليلة.

And the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, went out to Qarqarat Al-Kadr for a group from Sulaym and found the tribe absent, so he seized the livestock, and his absence there was fifteen nights.

I was his companion in the expedition of Qarqarat Al-Kadr, and it has been mentioned under 'qarr'.

And 'Al-Akadir' are mountains, the singular is 'akdar'.

And if its insides were filled with broth... Banu Hajar leaned towards the slopes of Al-Akadir.

And 'Al-Akadir': a town in the lands of Fazara.

والكدري، كتركي، والكداري، الأخيرة عن ابن الأعرابي: ضرب من القطا غبر الألوان قصار الأرجل رقش الظهور سود باطن الجناح صفر الحلوق.

And 'Al-Kudri', like 'turki', and 'Al-Kudari', the latter from Ibn Al-A'rabi: a type of sandgrouse, grayish in color, short-legged, with patterned backs, black undersides of wings, and yellow throats.

في ذنبها ريشتان أطول من سائر الذنب، قاله ابن السكيت، وزاد ابن سيده: فصيحة تنادى باسمها، وهي ألطف من الجوني، وأنشد ابن الأعرابي: تلقى به بيض القطا الكداري ... توائما كالحدق الصغار

In its tail are two feathers longer than the rest of the tail, said Ibn Al-Sikkit, and Ibn Sidah added: eloquent, calling out its name, and it is gentler than 'al-juni', and Ibn Al-A'rabi recited: You meet with it the eggs of the 'kudari' sandgrouse... twins like small eyes.

واحدته كدرية وكدارية، وقال بعضهم: الكدري: منسوب إلى طير كدر، كالدبسي منسوب إلى طير دبس

Its singular is 'kudriyya' and 'kudariyya', and some said: 'Al-Kudri': is attributed to a bird 'kadr', like 'Al-Dubsi' is attributed to a bird 'dibs'.

والقطا ثلاثة أضرب: كدري، وجوني، وغطاط، فالكدري ما وصفناه وهو ألطف من الجوني، كأنه نسب إلى معظم القطا وهي كدر، والضربان الآخران مذكوران في موضعيهما.

And sandgrouse are of three types: 'kudri', 'juni', and 'ghattat', so 'al-kudri' is what we described, and it is gentler than 'al-juni', as if it were attributed to the majority of sandgrouse which are 'kadr', and the other two types are mentioned in their places.

الأكدر: هو الذي في لونه كدرة، قال رؤبة: أكدر لفاف عناد الروغ

'Al-Akdar': is that which has dullness in its color, said Ru'bah: dull, winding, stubborn in its course.

تكادرت العين في الشيء، إذا أدامت النظر إليه، قاله الزمخشري.

The eye 'takadarat' on something, meaning it kept looking at it, said Al-Zamakhshari.

من رشك بله، ومن رماك بكدرة ارمه بحجرة.

He who sprinkles you with water, and he who throws turbidity at you, throw a stone at him.
