And al-Khatib mentioned him in the History and elaborated until he said: He was summoned from Marw to Bukhara to narrate hadith there, and he died in the desert in the year.
والغندور، كزنبور: الغلام الحسن الشباب، والعامة تفتحه
And al-ghundūr, like zunbūr: the handsome young boy, and the common people pronounce it with a fatḥa.
