It is said: The beast roared when it cried out, its plural is ghudhamir. It is said: I heard from it ghudhamir and ghadhmara, meaning a sound, which can be from a beast or a camel driver, and so-and-so is a possessor of ghudhamir.
وقيل: التغذمر: سوء اللفظ والتخليط في الكلام.
And it is said: Al-taghadhmur: Poor articulation and confusion in speech.
فقاموا ولهم تغذمر وبربرة أي غضب وتخليط كلام.
So they stood up, and they had taghadhmur and barbarah, meaning anger and confused speech.
ويقال للمخلط في كلامه: إنه لذو غذامير، كذا حكى.
And one who mixes his words is said to be 'dhu ghudhamir', thus it is narrated.
والمغذمر من الرجال: من يركب الأمور فيأخذ من هذا ويعطي هذا ويدع لهذا من حقه ويكون، ذلك في الكلام أيضا إذا كان يخلط فيه، أو المغذمر: من يهب الحقوق لأهلها، أو هو الذي يتحمل على نفسه في ماله، أو من يحكم على قومه بما شاء فلا يرد حكمه ولا يعصى، وهو الرئيس الذي يسوس عشيرته بما شاء من عدل وظلم.
And al-mughdhamir among men: is one who undertakes affairs, taking from this, giving to that, and leaving for this his due, and this applies to speech as well if he mixes it; or al-mughdhamir: is one who gives rights to their owners, or he who burdens himself with his wealth, or he who rules his people as he wishes, so his judgment is not rejected nor disobeyed, and he is the chief who governs his tribe as he wishes, with justice or injustice.
ومقسم يعطي العشيرة حقها ... ومغذمر لحقثوقها هضامها
And a distributor who gives his tribe its due... and a leader who upholds its rights and breaks its burdens.
والغذمرة، كعلبطة: المختلطة من النبت، هكذا نقله الصاغاني ولم يعزه.
And al-ghadhmara, like 'albatta: the mixed vegetation, thus al-Sagani transmitted it without attribution.
وإن نبات مغثمر ومغذوم ومغثوم، أي مخلط ليس بجيد.
