Al-Musawwir, and He is one of the most beautiful names of Allah, and He is the one who shaped all existing things, and arranged them, giving each thing a special form and a unique appearance by which it is distinguished despite their variety and abundance.

And al-Surah: the face.

أما علمت أن الصورة محرمة

Do you not know that striking the face is forbidden?

والحديث الآخر: (كره أن تعلم الصورة) ، أي يجعل في الوجه كي أو سمة.

And the other hadith: (He disliked that the face be marked), meaning to brand or mark the face.

وتصورت الشيء: توهمت صورته

والصور بضم ففتح، ويقال: بالكسر: موضع بالشام، قال الأخطل: أمست إلى جانب الحشاك جيفته ورأسه دونه اليحموم!

And al-Suwar, with damma then fatha, and it is said: with kasr: a place in Sham, Al-Akhtal said: His carcass lay beside your heart, and his head was below him in al-Yahmum!
