And it has kept awake the one with the arrows, who spent the night resting his elbows on his flanks and hindquarters.
السهر: امتناع النوم بالليل

ورجل سهار العين: لا يغلبه النوم
And a man with sleepless eyes: sleep does not overcome him.
ليل ساهر أي ذو سهر
A sleepless night, meaning a night with sleeplessness.
كما قالوا: ليل نائم
Just as they said: a sleeping night.
كتمتك ليلا بالجمومين ساهرا وهمين: هما مستكنا وظاهرا
I concealed from you a night with abundant water, sleepless, and two worries: one hidden and one apparent.
الساهرة: الأرض
As-Sāhirah: the earth.
هي الأرض البسيطة العريضة يسهر سالكها.
It is the vast, wide land whose traveler stays awake.
أو وجهها
Or its surface.
أرض ساهرة: سريعة النبات
A sāhirah land: fast-growing vegetation.
كأنها سهرت بالنبات
As if it were awake with plants.
يرتدن ساهرة كأن عميمها وجميمها أسداف ليل مظلم
They graze on fertile land, as if its dense and sparse vegetation were the dark curtains of night.
الساهرة: العين الجارية
As-Sāhirah: the flowing spring.
عين ساهرة، إذا كانت تجري ليلا ونهارا لا تفتر
A flowing spring, if it runs day and night without ceasing.
خير المال عين ساهرة لعين نائمة
The best wealth is a flowing spring for a sleeping person.
أي عين ماء تجري ليلا ونهارا وصاحبها نائم، فجعل دوام جريها سهرا لها.
Meaning a water spring that flows day and night while its owner sleeps, so the continuous flow is considered its sleeplessness.
وهي عين صاحبها؛ لأنه فارغ البال، لا يهتم بها.
And it is the spring of its owner; because he is carefree and does not worry about it.
الفلاة يسهر سالكها
The desert where its traveler stays awake.
فإذا هم بالساهرة
Then they will be on the As-Sāhirah.
قيل: هي أرض لم توطأ، أو هي أرض يجددها الله تعالى يوم القيامة
It is said: it is land that has not been trodden, or it is land that God will renew on the Day of Resurrection.
وقيل: هي أرض لم يعص الله تعالى عليها.
And it is said: it is land on which God has not been disobeyed.
الساهرة: جبل بالقدس
As-Sāhirah: a mountain in Jerusalem.
أرض بيت المقدس.
The land of Jerusalem.
الساهرة: جهنم
As-Sāhirah: Hell.
هي أرض الشام
It is the land of Sham (Syria).
الأسهران: الأنف، والذكر
Al-Asheran: the nose, and the penis.
عرقان في المتن يجري فيهما المني، فيقع في الذكر
Two veins in the back through which semen flows, ending up in the penis.
عرقان في الأنف
Two veins in the nose.
عرقان في المنخرين من باطن، إذا اغتلم الحمار سالا دما أو ماء.
Two veins in the inner nostrils, from which blood or water flows when the donkey is in heat.

The correct narration in the saying of Ash-Shammakh is: (as-harat-hu), meaning 'it did not let him sleep'.

Like as-Sihār, with dammah, meaning the same thing.

As if she were a vein of poison at its striker, or a piece that came out of the core of the moon's sheath.
يعني شقة القمر
Meaning a piece of the moon.
ويروى: (من جنب ناهور)
And it is narrated: (from the side of nāhūr).
والناهور: السحاب.
And an-Nāhūr: the clouds.
يقال للقمر إذا كسف: دخل في ساهوره، وهو الغاسق إذا وقب
It is said of the moon when it is eclipsed: it has entered its sāhūr, which is the darkening when it sets.
تعوذي بالله من هاذا، فإنه الغاسق إذا وقب
Seek refuge in God from this, for it is the darkening when it sets.
يريد: يسود إذا كسف، وكل شيء اسود فقد غسق.
He means: it turns black when eclipsed, and everything that turns black has 'ghasaq'.
ساهور القمر: دارته، سريانية.
The moon's sāhūr: its orbit, Syriac.
ليالي الساهور: التسع البواقي من آخر الشهر
The nights of as-Sāhūr: the remaining nine nights of the end of the month.
سميت لأن القمر يغيب في أوائلها.
They are named so because the moon disappears in their early part.
الساهور: ظل الساهرة، أي وجه الأرض
As-Sāhūr: the shadow of as-Sāhirah, meaning the surface of the earth.
الساهور من العين: أصلها ومنبع مائها، يعني عين الماء
As-Sāhūr from the eye: its origin and source of water, meaning a water spring.
لاقت تميم الموت في ساهورها بين الصفا والعيس من سديرها
Tamim met death in its sāhūr between the Safa and the camels from its Sudeir.
الساهرية: عطر؛ لأنه يسهر في عملها وتجويدها
As-Sāhiriyyah: a perfume; because one stays awake in its making and perfecting.
والإعجام تصحيف
And the dots are a misspelling.
مسهر بن يزيد، ذكره أبو علي القالي في الصحابة.
Mus-hir ibn Yazid, Abu Ali al-Qali mentioned him among the Companions.
يقال للناقة: إنها لساهرة العرق، وهو طول حفلها وكثرة لبنها.
It is said of a she-camel: she is sāhirat al-'irq, which means her long gestation and abundant milk.
وبرق ساهر، وقد سهر البرق، إذا بات يلمع، وهو مجاز.
And a sleepless lightning, and lightning has 'sahara', if it stays flashing, and this is metaphorical.
