رجل سري، بالكسر: يضع الأشياء سرا، من قوم سريين.
A man is sari, with kasra: he places things secretly, from a people of sariyyeen.
والأسرة: أوساط الرياض.
And al-Usrah: the middle parts of the meadows.
وقال الفراء: لها عليها سرارة الفضل، وسراوته، أي زيادته
And al-Farra' said: she has upon him the abundance of favor, and its increase, meaning its excess.
وفلان سر هاذا الأمر، بالكسر، إذا كان عالما به.
And so-and-so is sirr of this matter, with kasra, if he is knowledgeable about it.
وسرار، ككتاب: وادي صنعاء اليمن الذي يشتقها.
And Sirar, like Kitab: a valley in Sana'a, Yemen, from which it originates.
وسره: طعنه في سرته، قال الشاعر: نسرهم إن هم أقبلوا وإن أدبروا فهم من نسب أي نطعنه في سبته.
And to stab him in his surrah: to stab him in his navel, the poet said: We will stab them if they come and if they go, they are from a lineage, meaning we stab him in his navel.
وفي الحديث: (ولد معذورا مسرورا)، أي مقطوع السرة.

And in the proverb: (Every one who is dragged to the latrine is masr).
وتسرر فلان بنت فلان، إذا كان لئيما وكانت كريمة فتزوجها، لكثرة ماله وقلة مالها.
And so-and-so married so-and-so's daughter, if he was base and she was noble, he married her, due to his abundant wealth and her little wealth.

(... he will drag his parents by his navel until he enters them into Paradise).
وفي حديث حذيفة: (لا تنزل سرة البصرة)، أي وسطها وجوفها، مأخوذ من سرة الإنسان، فإنها في وسطه.
And in Hudhayfah's hadith: (Do not descend to the surrat al-Basra), meaning its middle and its interior, taken from the human navel, as it is in its center.
أي كأسمن ما كانت، من سر كل شيء، وهو لبه ومخه، وقيل: هو من السرور؛ لأنها إذا سمنت سرت الناظر إليها.
Meaning as fat as it was, from the sirr of everything, which is its core and its essence, and it was said: it is from joy; because when it is fat, it pleases the beholder.
(أنه كان يحدثه عليه السلام كأخي السرار)، أي كصاحب السرار، أو كمثل المساررة، لخفض صوته.
(He used to speak to him, peace be upon him, like a brother of sirar), meaning like a companion of sirar, or like musarrah, for lowering the voice.
والسراء: البطحاء.
And al-Sarra': the plain.

إذا يقولون ما أشفى أقول لهم دخان رمث من التسرير يشفيني مما يضم إلى عمران حاطبه من الجنيبة جزلا غير موزون
When they say what is the cure, I tell them smoke from the broom from al-Tasrir cures me from what is added to the firewood from the jannibah, substantial and unweighed.
وأعطيتك سره، أي خالصه، وهو مجاز.
And I gave you its sirr, meaning its pure essence, and it is a metaphor.
وإذا حك بعض جسده، أو غمزه فاستلذ قيل: هو يستار إلى ذالك، وإني لأستار إلى ما تكره: أستلذه، وهو مجاز.
And if he scratches part of his body, or massages it and finds pleasure, it is said: he yastar to that, and indeed I yastar to what you dislike: I find pleasure in it, and it is a metaphor.
إن العروق إذا استسر بها الندى أشر النبات بها وطاب المزرع
Indeed, when the dew is deeply hidden in the veins, the plants flourish and the farm is good.
