Why do you ask about one whose skin has withered and whose lineage has been cut off?

The child is the fruit of the heart.
إذا مات ولد العبد قال الله لملائكته: قبضتم ثمرة فؤاده؟ فيقولون: نعم
When a servant's child dies, Allah says to His angels: Did you take the fruit of his heart? They say: Yes.
ونقص من الاموال والانفس والثمرات
And [there will be] deficiency in wealth, lives, and fruits.
ثمر الشجر وأثمر: صار فيه الثمر
The tree bore fruit and became fruitful: fruit appeared on it.

And it was said: Al-thumrā' in the verse of Abu Dhu'ayb is a specific tree, and it was said: the name of a mountain, which is a plateau in the direction of Taif towards Al-Sirat.
والثمراء (من الشجر: ما خرج ثمرها)
And al-thumrā' (of trees): that which has produced its fruit.
والثمراء (الأرض الكثيرة الثمر)
And al-thumrā' (land): land with abundant fruit.
إذا كثر حمل الشجرة، أو ثمر الأرض، فهي ثمراء
If the tree's load is heavy, or the land's fruit is abundant, it is thumrā'.
أرض ثميرة: كثيرة الثمر

And al-thumayrah: the milk from which froth has appeared, or that which has not yet produced its froth, like al-thmayr, in both cases.
قال لجارية: هل عندك قرى؟ قالت: نعم، خبز خمير، ولبن ثمير، وحيس جمير
He said to a slave girl: Do you have hospitality? She said: Yes, leavened bread, frothy milk, and packed food.
ثمر السقاء تثميرا، إذا ظهر عليه تحبب الزبد، كأثمر
The waterskin became frothy, when the curdling of froth appeared on it, like athmara.
وأثمر الزبد: اجتمع
And the froth gathered, athmara.
وذلك عند الرؤوب
And that is when the milk is about to turn.
هو المثمر
It is the mithmar (frothy).
وما دامت صغارا فهو ثمير
And as long as they are small, it is thmayr.
إن لبنك لحسن الثمر
Indeed, your milk has good froth.
وقد أثمر مخاضك
And your churning has produced froth.
وهي ثميرة اللبن أيضا
And it is also the thumayrah of the milk.
أكفانا الله مضيره، وأسقانا ثميره
May Allah protect us from its bitterness and give us to drink its sweetness (froth).
ثمر النبات تثميرا: نفض نوره، وعقد ثمره
The plant shed its blossoms, tathmīrā: it dropped its flowers and set its fruit.
ثمر الرجل ماله تثميرا: نماه وكثره
The man increased his wealth, tathmīrā: he grew it and multiplied it.
ويقال: ثمر الله مالك
And it is said: May Allah increase your wealth.
وأثمر الرجل: كثر ماله
And the man became wealthy: his wealth increased.
يثمر ثمرا فيه حموضة
It yields a fruit with sourness.
فأسقته أجفاني بسيح وقاطر فأثمر هما لا يبيد وحسرة لقلبي
And my eyelids watered it with flowing and dripping water, and it bore a lasting sorrow and regret for my heart.
وتثمر حاجة الآمال نجحا إذا ما كان فيها ذا احتيال
And the need for hopes bears success if there is cunning in it.
زبرجد قد أثمر الدرا
Emeralds that have borne pearls.
سيثمر لي ما أثمر الطلع حائط
It will bear for me what the blossom of a wall bears.
والثامر: اللوبياء
And al-thāmir: lentils.
والثامر: نور الحماض، وهو أحمر
And al-thāmir: the blossom of sour grass, which is red.
من علق كثامر الحماض
Like one who wears the blossom of sour grass.
ابن ثمير: الليل المقمر
Ibn thumayr: the moonlit night.
وإني لمن عبس وإن قال قائل على زعمهم ما أثمر ابن ثمير
And I am from 'Abas, even if someone says, according to their claim, that Ibn Thumayr did not bear fruit (i.e., it was not a moonlit night).

وثمر بالتحريك؛ لا باليمن من قرى ذمار
And thamar, with vowel marks; a village in Yemen, from the villages of Dhamar.

فعطاه صفقة يده، وثمرة قلبه
So he gave him the grasp of his hand and the fruit of his heart (i.e., his sincere pledge).
وخصني بثمرة قلبه، أي بمودته
And he singled me out with the fruit of his heart, meaning his affection.
وثامر الحلم: تامه
And thāmir al-ḥulm: its completion (maturity).
والخمر ليست من أخيك ولا كن قد تغر بثامر الحلم
And wine is not from your brother, but it might deceive with mature intellect.
والعقل المثمر: عقل المسلم
And the fruitful intellect: the intellect of a Muslim.
وفي السماء ثمرة وثمر: لطخ من سحاب
And in the sky, thamara and thamar: a smear of cloud.
كقولك: ثمرة العلم العمل الصالح
