Abbas bin 'Amir al-Aṣamm said: By the water of al-Kilāb, and they did not blame, but rather whoever jostles the corner of Īr.
ويكنى به عن كثرة أولاده الذكور، قال علي رضي الله عنه: (من يطل أير أبيه ينتطق به)
And it is a metaphor for the abundance of his male offspring. Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: (Whoever has his father's penis long, he girds himself with it).
وآر الرجل حليلته يؤورها ويئيرها أيرا، إذا جامعها.
And a man had intercourse with his wife, he يؤورها and يؤيرها ayran, if he had intercourse with her.
ولا غرو أن كان الأعيرج آرها وما الناس إلا آير ومئير
And it is not surprising that al-A'araj had intercourse with her, and people are nothing but ayir and mu'ayir.
على أصلاب أحقب أخدري من اللائي تضمنهن إير
On the loins of pregnant she-camels from those whom Īr contained.
وهو بالكسر، وأما بالفتح فناحية من المدينة يخرجون إليها للنزهة.
And it is with kasr, but with fatḥ it is a region of Medina to which they go out for recreation.
