{لذه و) } لذ (به) ، يتعدى ولا يتعدى، {لذا} ولذاذة، وهو من باب فرح، كما صرح به الجوهري أرباب الأفعال، وإن توقف فيه بعضهم نظرا إلى اصطلاحه، فإن مقتضاه أن يكون المضارع منهما على يفعل، بالضم، ككتب، وليس كذالك، وفي المحكم: {لذذت الشيء، بالكسر، (} لذاذا، {ولذاذة،} والتذه) {التذاذا، (و) } التذ (به، {واستلذه: وجده} لذيذا) أو عده {لذيذا،} والتذ به {وتلذذ بمعنى واحد،} ولذذت الشيء {ألذه، إذا} استلذذته، وكذالك لذذت بذالك الشيء، وأنا {ألذ به} لذاذة {ولذذته سواء، وفي الحديث: كان الزبير يرقص عبد الله ويقول: أبيض من آل أبي عتيق مبارك من ولد الصديق ألذه كما ألذ ريقي (} ولذ هو) {يلذ (: صار} لذيذا) قال رؤبة: {لذت أحاديث الغوي المندغ أي} استلذ بها.
{He delighted in it and} delighted (in it), it is transitive and intransitive, {لذا} and لذاذة, and it is from the باب فرح (form I verb pattern), as stated by Al-Jawhari in Arbāb al-Af'āl, although some have hesitated regarding his convention, as it implies that the present tense from them should be 'yaf'ulu', with dammah, like 'kataba', and it is not so. In Al-Muḥkam: {I found the thing pleasing, with kasrah, (} لذاذا, {and لذاذة,} and I delighted in it) {تذلذذا, (and)} I delighted (in it), {and I found it pleasing:} I found it {لذيذا} or considered it {لذيذا,} and I delighted in it {and تلذذ} have the same meaning. And I delighted in the thing {I made it pleasing, if} I found it pleasing. Likewise, I delighted in that thing, and I {take pleasure in it} لذاذة {and I made it pleasing are the same}. And in the Hadith: Al-Zubayr used to dance with Abdullah and say: 'Whiter than the family of Abu 'Atiq, blessed from the offspring of Al-Siddiq, I make him pleasing as I make my saliva pleasing' ({and he became} {يلذ} : he became {لذيذا}) Ru'bah said: {I found the sayings of the misguided seducer pleasing} meaning {I found pleasure in them}.
(و) عن ابن الأعرابي: ( {اللذ: النوم) ، وأنشد: } ولذ كطعم الصرخدي تركته بأرض العدا من خشية الحدثان ( {واللذيذ: الخمر) هو} واللذ يجريان مجرى واحدا في النعت، ( {كاللذة) ، قال الله عز وجل {من خمر} لذة للشاربين} (سورة محمد، الآية: 15) أي {لذيذة، وقيل: ذات} لذة. وكأس {لذة:} لذيذة. (ج {لذ) ، بالضم، (} ولذاذ) ، بالكسر، شراب {لذ من أشربة} لذ {ولذاذ،} ولذيذ من أشربة لذاذ.
(And) from Ibn Al-A'rabi: ({Al-Ladh}: sleep), and he recited: 'And he slept like the taste of Al-Sarkhadi, whom I left in the land of enemies for fear of events.' ({And Al-Ladhidh}: wine), it is {and Al-Ladh} they are used in the same way as adjectives, ({like Al-Ladhdhah}), Allah Almighty says: '{from wine} a pleasure for the drinkers' (Surah Muhammad, Verse: 15), meaning {pleasing}, and it was said: {possessing} pleasure. And a cup {of pleasure:} pleasing. (Pl. {Ladh}, with dammah, ({and Ladhadh}), with kasrah, a drink {Ladh from drinks} Ladh {and Ladhadh}, and Ladhidh from drinks of Ladhadh.
( {واللذلاذ: السريع الخفيف في عمله، وقذ} لذلذ، و) به سمي (الذئب) {لذلاذا، لسرعته، هاكذا حكي} لذلاذ، بلا لام كأوس ونهشل، فكان ينبغي للمصنف أن يقول: وبلا لام الذئب، قال عمرو بن حميل: لكل عيال الضحى لذلاذ لون التراب أعقد الشماذ أراد بعيال الضحى ذئبا يتعيل في عطفيه، أي يتثنى، والأعقد: الذي يلوي ذنبه كأنه منعقد.
({And Al-Ladhladh}: the quick and light in his work, and it is said} {Ladhladha}, and) by it (the wolf) is named {Ladhladha}, for its speed. Thus it is narrated {Ladhladh}, without a 'lam' like Aws and Nahshal. So the author should have said: and without 'lam' the wolf. Amr ibn Humayl said: 'For every prey of the forenoon, a quick one, the color of the earth, with a twisted tail.' He meant by 'prey of the forenoon' a wolf that prowls in its curves, meaning it twists. And Al-A'qad: the one who twists his tail as if it were knotted.
وروضة {ملتذ: ع قرب المدينة) المشرفة، على ساكنها أفضل الصلاة والسلام، ذكره الزبير في كتاب العقيق، وأنشد لعروة بن أذينة: فروضة ملتذ فجنبا منيرة فوادي العقيق انساح فيهن وابله كذا في المعجم.
And a meadow {Multadh: near the noble city, upon its inhabitant be the best of prayers and peace. Al-Zubayr mentioned it in the Book of Al-'Aqiq, and he recited for 'Urwah ibn Udhaynah: 'A meadow, a place of pleasure, and two bright sides, in the valley of Al-'Aqiq, its rain poured down upon them.' Thus it is in the dictionary.

({And Al-Aladhdhah}: those who take their pleasure), Al-Saghani transmitted it.
(و) قال ابن بري في الحواشي، (ذكر الجوهري اللذ) بسكون الذال، (هنا وهم، وإنما موضعه) لذا من (المعتل) ، قال: وقد ذكره في ذالك الموضع، وإنما غلطه في جعله في هاذا الموضع كونه بغير ياء، وعبارة الجوهري: {واللذ} واللذ، بكسر الذال وتسكينها لغة في الذي، والتثنية {اللذا، بحذف النون، والجمع الذين وربما قالوا في الجمع} اللذون، قال شيخنا: وهاذا، أي ذكحر اللغة في موضع غير بابها من باب جمع النظائر والأشباه، فلا يغني عن ذكر كل كلمة في بابها، لأنه موهم كما توهمه المصنف.
(And) Ibn Bri said in the margins, (Al-Jawhari mentioned Al-Ladh) with a sukun on the dhal, (here it is an error, and its place is) in the defective verbs (Al-Mu'tal). He said: And he mentioned it in that place. His error was in placing it in this place because it is without a ya'. The wording of Al-Jawhari: {And Al-Ladh} and Al-Ladh, with kasrah on the dhal and sukun, is a dialectal variation for 'alladhi' (who/which). The dual is {Al-Ladhdha}, with the omission of the nun. The plural is {Al-Ladhdhīn}, and they sometimes say for the plural {Al-Ladhdhūn}. Our teacher said: And this, meaning the mention of the language, is in a place other than its chapter, from the chapter of collecting similar and analogous words. So it does not suffice to mention each word in its chapter, because it is misleading, as the author was misled.
ومما يستدرك عليه: {الملاذ جمع} ملذ، وهو موضع اللذة من لذ الشيء يلذ لذاذة فهو لذيذ، أي مشتهى، وفي الحديث (إذا ركب أحدكم الدابة فليحملها على {ملاذها) أي ليجرها في السهولة لا في الحزونة.
And among what is to be added: {Al-Maladh is the plural of} Maladh, and it is the place of pleasure from 'the thing was pleasing, it is pleasing, it has pleasure, so it is pleasing', meaning desirable. And in the Hadith: (If one of you rides a beast, let him lead it to {its easy path}), meaning let him lead it on the easy ground, not on the rough terrain.
{واللذوى، فعلى من اللذة، قلبت إحدى الذالين ياء، كالتقضي والتلظي، وقد جاء في حديث عائشة رضي الله عنها، أنها ذكرت الدنيا فقالت: (قد مضى {لذواها، وبقي بلواها) ، أي} لذتها.
{And Al-Ladhwa, a pattern from Al-Ladhdhah, where one of the two dhals is changed to a ya', like Al-Taqadhi and Al-Taladhdhi. It has come in the Hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that she mentioned the world and said: (Its {pleasures} have passed, and its trials remain), meaning {its pleasure}.
{واللذة} واللذاذة {واللذيذ} واللذوني الأكل والشرب بنعمة وكفاية.
{And Al-Ladhdhah} and Al-Ladhadhah {and Al-Ladhidh} and Al-Ladhūnī are eating and drinking with blessing and sufficiency.
ورجل {لذ:} ملتذ، انشد ابن الأعرابي لأبي سعنة: فرا 2 أصيل الحزم {لذا مرزأ وباكر مملوءا من الراح مترعا وفي الحديث (لصب عليكم العذاب صبا ثم} لذ {لذا) أي قرن بعضه إلى بعض. وهو في} لذ من عيش، وله عيش {لذ.
And a man {Ladh:} enjoying. Ibn Al-A'rabi recited for Abu Sa'nah: 'At the time of the afternoon of determination, {he enjoyed} a feast, and he brought in the morning full of wine, overflowing.' And in the Hadith: (He will pour down torment upon you, then {he will join} {it}), meaning he will join some of it to others. And it is in {a life of} pleasure, and he has a {pleasing} life.
ورجل لذ: طيب الحديث. وذا أطيب} وألذ. وذا مما {- يلذني} - ويلذذني. {ولاذ الرجل امرأته} ملاذة {ولذاذا،} وتلاذا عند التماس.
And a man is Ladh: pleasant in speech. And this is more pleasant {and more enjoyable}. And this is from what {- pleases me} - and {makes me pleased}. {And the man sought his wife} {Malaadhah} {and Ladhadha}, and {Taladhdha} when seeking.
