It is said 'ibn' (its origin is Nuḥ Āvand), named because 'he built it' (correcting to 'he built it', so it was lightened).
أو أصله (إينهاوند) لأنهم وجدوها كما هي، قاله أبو المنذر هشام
Or its origin is 'Inhavand' because they found it as it is, said Abu al-Mundhir Hisham.
وقال حمزة: أصلها نيوهاوند فاختصر، ومعناه الخير المضاعف

وعلى حافات نهرها طين أشد ما يكون في السواد والتعلك يختم به
And on the banks of its river is clay, extremely black and sticky, which is used for sealing.
