فهو منافد يحاج الخصم حتى يقطع حجته وينفدها
He is a disputer who argues with the opponent until he exhausts his argument and depletes it.
ويقال: ليس له رافد ولا منافد
And it is said: He has no supporter nor any contender.
نافدت الخصم منافدة إذا حاججته حتى تقطع حجته

وخصم منافد: يستفرغ جهده في لخصومة
And a disputing opponent: one who expends his utmost effort in the dispute.
وهو إذا ما قيل هل من وافد أو رجل عن حقكم منافد
And he is one who, when it is said, 'Is there any visitor or man who disputes your right?'
يكون للغائب مثل الشاهد ورجل منافد: جيد الاستفراغ لحجج خصمه تى ينفدها فيغلبه
He is like a present witness for the absent, and a man who disputes well: good at exhausting his opponent's arguments until he depletes them and overcomes him.
إن نافدتهم نافدوك
If you dispute with them, they will dispute with you.
نافدت الرجل، أي حاكمته، أي إن قلت لهم قالوا لك
I disputed with the man, meaning I argued with him, meaning if you say something to them, they will say something back to you.
فألجمها فأرسلها عليه وولى وهو منتفد بعيد
So he bridled her and sent her against him, and he turned away, going far away.
وانتفد اللبن إذا حلبه

أي يبلغ أولهم وآخرهم حتى يراهم كلهم ويستوعبهم
Meaning it reaches their beginning and their end until it sees them all and encompasses them.
فلان منتفد فلان، أي إذا أنفد ما عنده أمده بنفقة
So-and-so is a provider for so-and-so, meaning when he exhausts what he has, he provides him with expenses.
