And from Abu Hanifa: 'al-maghd': a tree that twists around trees, thinner than grapevines, and its leaves are long, thin, and soft, and it produces fruits like banana fruits, except they are thinner-skinned and more watery, sweet and not peeled.

نحن بني سواءة بن عامر أهل اللثى والمغد والمغافر

We are the sons of Suwa'ah bin 'Amir, people of the 'latha', 'al-maghd', and 'al-maghafir'.

وأمغد الرجل إمغادا: أكثر من الشرب

And the man drank excessively, an excessive drinking: he drank more than usual.

وقال أبو حنيفة: أمغد الرجل: أطال الشرب

وتقول المرأة: أمغدت هذا الصبي فمغدني (أي رضعني)
