وَقِيلَ: صَخْرَةٌ صَيْخُودٌ، وَهِيَ الصُّلْبَةُ الَّتِي يَشْتَدُّ حَرُّهَا إِذَا حُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْهَا الشَّمْسُ.
And it was said: a rock is solid and immovable, and it is the hard one whose heat intensifies when the sun heats it.
وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَلِيٍّ، كَرَّمَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ: (ذَوَاتُ الشَّنَاخِيبِ الصُّمِّ مِنْ صَيَاخِيدِهَا).
And in the hadith of Ali, may Allah honor his face: (possessing solid peaks from their hard rocks).
وَالصَّيْخَدُ: عَيْنُ الشَّمْلِ سُمِّيَ بِهِ لِشِدَّةِ حَرِّهِ.

يَوْمًا يَظَلُّ بِهِ الحِرْبَاءُ مُصْطَخِدًا كَأَنَّ ضَاحِيَهُ بِالنَّارِ مَمْلُولٌ.
A day in which the chameleon remains erect, as if its exposed part is seared by fire.
وَالصَّخْدُ، بِالضَّمِّ: دَمٌ.
And al-sakhd, with damma: blood.
وَالصَّخْدُ: الرَّهَلُ، وَالصُّفْرَةُ فِي الوَجْهِ.
And al-sakhd: paleness, and yellowness in the face.
