And it is said: He guides to the destinations of roads.
أي مقاصد الطرق
Meaning the intended destinations of the roads.
ومن المجاز: ولد فلان لرشدة، بفتح الراء، ويكسر
And from metaphor: So-and-so had a child from 'rushdah', with fatha on the ra, and with kasra.

من ادعى ولدا لغير رشدة فلا يرث ولا يورث
Whoever claims a child not from a legitimate birth, he shall not inherit nor be inherited from.

And named them Bani Rushdan, and some narrated it with kasra.
ما اسمك؟ قال: غيان. فقال: بل رشدان
What is your name? He said: Ghiyan. He said: Rather, Rushdan.
وفتح الراء لتحاكي غيان
And the fatha on the ra to resemble Ghiyan.
وإذا خلوا إلى شياطينهم قالوا إنا معكم إنما نحن مستهزءون
And when they go aside to their devils, they say, 'Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers.'
الله يستهزىء بهم ويمدهم في طغيانهم يعمهون
Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression, wandering blindly.
رشد أمره: رشد فيه
Rashada his affair: he was guided in it.
والطريق الأرشد نحو الأقصد
And the most guided path is towards the most direct.
ويقال يا راشدين، بمعنى: يا راشد
And it is said 'Ya Rashidun', meaning: O Rashid.
والرشاد، ككتان. كثير الرشد

وبه قرىء في الشواذ إلا سبيل الرشاد
