Al-Layth erred in interpreting 'al-fahh' and in his saying that the melon which did not ripen is 'qah', and this is a textual corruption.

وصوابه الفج بالفاء والجيم، يقال ذالك لكل ثمر لم ينضج.

And its correct form is 'al-fajj' with 'fa' and 'jim', and this is said for every fruit that has not ripened.

وأعرابي قح وقحاح، بضمهما: محض خالص

And a Bedouin who is 'qah' and 'qahah' (pure), with both pronounced with damma: meaning pure, unadulterated.

وقيل: هو الذي لم يدخل الأمصار ولم يختلط بأهلها.

And it was said: he is one who has not entered the cities and has not mixed with their people.

وقد ورد في الحديث: (وعربية قحة).

And it has been narrated in the Hadith: (and a pure Arabic).

قح: محض، فلم يخص أعرابيا من غيره، وأعراب أقحاح، والأنثى قحة.

'Qah': pure, and he did not specify a Bedouin over anyone else, and they are 'aqhah' (pure) Arabs, and the feminine is 'qahah'.

وعبد قح: محض خالص، بين القحاحة والقحوحة، خالص العبودية.

And a pure slave: meaning pure, unadulterated, between 'al-qahahaha' and 'al-qahuha', signifying pure servitude.

وقالوا: عربي كح وعربية كحة، الكاف في كح بدل من القاف في قح، لقولهم: أقحاح، ولم يقولوا: أكحاح.

يقال: صار إلى قحاح الأمر، أي أصله وخالصه.

والقحقحة: تردد الصوت في الحلق، وهو شبيه بالبحة.

And it was said it is the meeting point of the hips from the inside, and it was said it is inside between the hips and it encircles the 'khawran', and the 'khawran' is between the 'qahqah' and the 'uscus', and it was said: it is the lower part of the 'ajab' in the sockets of the hips, slightly above the pubic bone.

والقحقح ليس من طرف الصلب في شيء، وملتقاه من ظاهر العصعص.

And 'al-qahqah' is not part of the end of the spine at all, and its meeting point is from the exterior of the 'uscus'.

وأعلى العصعص العجب، وأسفله الذنب، وقيل: القحقح: مجتمع الوركين، والعصعص طرف الصلب الباطن، وطرفه الظاهر العجب. والخون هو الدبر.

And the upper part of the 'uscus' is the 'ajab', and its lower part is the tailbone, and it was said: 'al-qahqah' is the meeting of the hips, and the 'uscus' is the inner end of the spine, and its outer end is the 'ajab'. And 'al-khawran' is the anus.

وقرب قحقاح ومقحقح: شديد

And 'qahqah' and 'mihqahih' (thirst): intense.

والقحيح فوق العب والجرع

And 'al-qahih' is above a gulp and a draught.
