وَالصَّمْحَاءُ (كَحَرْبَاءَ: الأَرْضُ الغَلِيظَةُ) كَالْحِزْبَاءِ، وَاحِدَتُهَا صَمْحَاءَةٌ وَحِزْبَاءَةٌ.
And Al-Samha' (like Harba'): the rough land, like Al-Hizba', its singular is Samha'ah and Hizba'ah.
الأَصْمَحُ: الشُّجَاعُ الَّذِي يَتَعَمَّدُ رُؤُوسَ الأَبْطَالِ بِالنَّقْفِ وَلاَ الضَّرْبِ بِشَجَاعَتِهِ.

وَهُوَ فَعْلَلٌ، كُرِّرَ فِيهِ العَيْنُ وَاللَّامُ.
And it is a 'fa'al' pattern, where the 'ayn' and 'lam' are repeated.
بَعِيرٌ صَمْحَمَحٌ: شَدِيدٌ قَوِيٌّ.
A strong camel: strong and powerful.
وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهَا فَاصِلَةٌ بَيْنَ العَيْنَيْنِ، وَالعَيْنَانِ مَتَى اجْتَمَعَتَا فِي كَلِمَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ مَفْصُولًا بَيْنَهُمَا، فَلاَ يَكُونُ الحَرْفُ الفَاصِلُ بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ زَائِدًا
And that is because it is a separator between the two 'ayn' letters, and when the two 'ayn' letters meet in a single word with a separator between them, the separating letter between them must be an addition.
وَقَدْ ثَبَتَ أَنَّ العَيْنَ الأُولَى هِيَ الزَّائِدَةُ، فَثَبَتَ إِذَنْ أَنَّ المِيمَ وَالحَاءَ الأُولَتَيْنِ فِي صَمْحَمَح هُمَا الزَّائِدَتَانِ، وَالمِيمُ وَالحَاءُ الأَخِيرَتَانِ هُمَا الأَصْلِيَّتَانِ
And it has been established that the first 'ayn' is the added one, so it is established then that the first 'mim' and 'ha'' in 'samhamah' are the added ones, and the last 'mim' and 'ha'' are the original ones.
وَحَافِرٌ صَمُوحٌ، كَصَبُورٍ، أَيْ شَدِيدٌ
And a hoof is 'samuh', like 'sabur', meaning strong.
لاَ يَتَشَكَّى الحَافِرُ الصَّمُوحَا يُلْتَعَنُ وَجْهًا بِالحَصَى مُلْتَوِحًا
The strong hoof does not complain; its face is battered by pebbles, bruised.
وَقِيلَ: حَافِرٌ صَمُوحٌ: شَدِيدُ الوَقْعِ، عَنْ كُرَاعٍ.
And it was said: a 'samuh' hoof: one that strikes forcefully, according to Kur'a.
شَمْسٌ صَمُوحٌ وَحَرُورٌ كَاللَّهَبِ
A scorching sun and a burning heat like flames.
وَيَوْمٌ صَمُوحٌ وَصَامِحٌ: شَدِيدُ الحَرِّ.
And a 'samuh' day and a 'samih' day: intensely hot.
