He scraped it, like he prevented it, with scraping.
And al-dhaḥj: is like al-saḥj, the same.
And the wind dragged someone: it dragged him from one place to another and moved him.
And Mudhḥij: is a great tribe, containing clans, branches, and sub-clans, and his name is Malik ibn Adad.
And Mudhḥij is Malik ibn Zayd ibn Kahlan ibn Saba'.
And Mudhḥij: are Malik and Tayyi', they were named that because when their mother's husband died, she stayed with her two sons, Tayyi' and Malik, and did not marry after Adad.
Adad ibn Zayd ibn Murrah ibn Yashjub, begot Murrah and al-Ash'ar, and their mother was Dallah bint Dhi Minjashan al-Himyarī. She bore Malik and Tayyi', whose name was Juhaymah. Then Adad died, and Mudallal did not remarry, and remained with her two sons, Malik and Tayyi'.
And it is said Mudhḥij is the name of a red hill in Yemen where the mother of Malik and Tayyi' gave birth to them.
And that Mudhḥij is from Kahlan ibn Saba'.
And Mudhḥij is a pattern 'maf'al' from their saying 'dhḥaja al-adīm wa ghayrahu' if you rub it. This is the saying of Ibn Durayd, then it became a name for the tribe.
Mudhḥij, like masjad, is the father of a tribe from Yemen, and he is Mudhḥij ibn Yaḥābir ibn Malik ibn Zayd ibn Kahlān ibn Saba'.
This is an error by him against Sibawayh; it is actually 'ma'ajj', making its mim an original letter like 'muhaddad'. If not for that, it would be 'ma'ja' and 'muhda' like 'mafarr'. And in the speech, it is 'fa'lal' like 'Ja'far', and it is not 'fa'lal'. So Mudhḥij is 'maf'al' and nothing else.
A woman stayed with her child if she remained.
And from it, Mudhḥij was derived, as previously mentioned.
And he scraped it with scraping: he rubbed it, and the 'd' is a dialectal variant, and it has been mentioned before.
And the woman threw her child: she cast it at birth.
And he rubbed the leather: he polished it, as previously mentioned.
It is permissible for Mudhḥij to be declined or not, and that the woman was named after the hill, and then the tribe was named after it.
