Its plural is 'ithath' with kasrah, like 'karim' and 'kiram', and 'atha'ith' with ya and hamzah, as it is recorded.

And it is 'athithah' (with ha), it is said: an 'athithah' beard, and an 'athithah' woman, meaning plump and fleshy.

And 'al-athath': abundant wealth. It was said: abundance of wealth. It was said: (household furnishings) whatever is of clothing, or filling for a bed, or a covering, Al-Farra said: it is (without a singular), just as 'mitaa'' has no singular, and Abu Zayd said the same.
أو هو (المال أجمع) أي كله: الإبل والغنم والعبيد والمتاع، (والواحدة أثاثة)، بالفتح، وفي التنزيل العزيز {} أثاثا ورءيا}
Or it is (all the wealth) meaning all of it: camels, sheep, slaves, and furnishings, (and the singular is 'athathah'), with fatha, and in the Noble Quran: {furnishings and Ruy'an}.
قال الفراء: ولو جمعت الأثاث لقلت: ثلاثة آثة، وأثث كثيرة.
Al-Farra said: If you were to pluralize 'al-athath', you would say: three 'aathah', and many 'athath'.
قال بعض اللغويين: الأثاث: ما يتخذ للاستعمال والمتاع لا للتجارة.
Some linguists said: 'Al-athath': is what is made for use and as furnishings, not for trade.
وقيل: الأثاث: ما جد من متاع البيت لاما رث وبلي، وبه جزم القرطبي.
It was said: 'Al-athath': is what is newly acquired of household furnishings, as opposed to what is worn out and decayed, and Al-Qurtubi affirmed this.
وفي الصحاح: تأثث فلان، إذا أصاب رياشا.
And in Al-Sihah: So-and-so 'ta'aththath', if he acquired furnishings.
والأثاثي: الأثافي وزحنا ومعنى، وهي حجارة تنصب وتجعل القدر عليها.
And 'al-athathiy': are 'al-athafi', meaning stones used to support a pot.
وهو مما عدوه فيما أبدلت الثاء فيه من الفاء؛ كمغفور ومغثور، ولم يتعرض له هنا الجوهري ولا ابن منظور، ولا غيرهما من أئمة اللغة والتصريف، بناء على أن الهمزة زائدة، والثاء جعلت بدل الفاء.
And it is among what they counted as instances where the thaa' is substituted for the faa'; like 'maghfur' and 'maghthur', and Al-Jauhari, Ibn Manzur, nor other imams of language and morphology mentioned it here, based on the assumption that the hamzah is extra, and the thaa' is made a substitute for the faa'.

And it is a dialect specific to Tamim, as narrated by Al-Saghani.

And 'Athathah', like 'thamamah', and with fatha: is a man's name.

And 'Athathah': is the name of the father of the companion Musattah, may Allah be pleased with him, a relative of our master Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him.
قال ابن دريد: أحسبه مشتقا من هاذا، يعني من تأثث الرجل، وسيأتي.
Ibn Duraid said: I think it is derived from this, meaning from 'a man acquiring furnishings', and it will come later.
وكذا أخته هند بنت أثاثة وعمرو بن أبي أثاثة العدوي صحابيان.
Likewise his sister Hind bint Athathah and Amr bin Abi Athathah Al-Adawi are companions.
لحية أثة، وأثيتة، أي كثة.
A thick beard, and an 'athithah' beard, meaning dense.

And 'ta'aththath' a man: means he acquired good, and in Al-Sihah: he acquired furnishings.
