فاعول، من: حنت قال ابن سيده: معروف، وقد غلب على دكان الخمار.
Fa'ul, from: hanata. Ibn Sidah said: known, and it has become predominant for the wine seller's shop.
وهو يذكر ويؤنث؛ قال الأعشى: وقد غدوت إلى الحانوت يتبعني شاو مشل شلول شلشل شول
And it is masculine and feminine; Al-A'sha said: I went out early to the tavern, followed by a lean, swift, and agile dog.
وقال الأخطل: ولقد شربت الخمر في حانوتها وشربتها بأريضة محلال
And Al-Akhtal said: I drank wine in its tavern, and I drank it with a fertile, unrestrained woman.
والحانوت، أيضا: الخمار نفسه
And the tavern, also: the wine seller himself.
قال القطامي: كميت إذا ما شجها الماء صرحت ذخيرة حانوت عليها تناذره
Al-Qutami said: A dark bay mare, when water wounds it, it becomes clear, a treasure of a wine seller, with its onlookers.
وقال المتنخل الهذلي: تمشى بيننا حانوت خمر من الخرس الصراصرة القطاط
And Al-Mutanakhkhil Al-Hudhali said: A wine seller walked among us, from the silent, murmuring, and small ones.
قيل: أي صاحب حانوت.
It was said: meaning the owner of the tavern.
أنه أحرق بيت رويشد الثقفي، وكان حانوتا يعاقر فيه الخمر ويباع
That he burned the house of Ruwayshid Al-Thaqafi, and it was a tavern where he drank wine and it was sold.
وكانت العرب تسمي بيوت الخمارين: الحوانيت، وأهل العراق يسمونها المواخير، واحدها حانوت وماخور.
And the Arabs used to call the houses of wine sellers: Al-Hawānīt, and the people of Iraq call them Al-Mawākhīr, singular is hanut and makhūr.
والحانة أيضا مثله.
And Al-Hānah is also like it.
وقيل: إنهما من أصل واحد، وإن اختلف بناؤهما، وأصلها حانوة بوزن ترقوة، فلما سكنت الواو، انقلبت هاء التأنيث تاء.
And it was said: they are from one origin, even if their structure differs, and their origin is hānūyah on the pattern of turquwah, so when the waw became quiescent, it turned into the feminine 'taa'.
وهو من حنو فوقع فيه التقديم والتأخير كطاغوت، وعليه فموضعه المعتل.
And it is from 'hanw' where there was a fronting and delaying like 'taghūt', and according to this, its place is defective.
والنسبة إلى الحانوت حاني وحانوي
And the attribution to the tavern is hānī and hānawī.
قال الفراء: ولم يقولوا: حانوتي.
Al-Farra' said: And they did not say: hānūtī.
ولاءن حانوتا صحيح، وحاني وحانوي معتل، فينبغي أن لا يعتد بهاذا القول.
Because hanūtā is sound, and hānī and hānawī are defective, so this saying should not be considered.
وقع في نسخة شيخنا: حانوتي، بالتاء بدل حانوي، وقال: هذا الموافق للأصل الذي أختاره، الجاري على قواعد التصريف، ثم رده لقول الفراء.
It occurred in our Sheikh's copy: hānūtī, with a 'taa' instead of 'hānawī', and he said: This conforms to the origin I chose, following the rules of morphology, then he rejected it based on Al-Farra's statement.
