ويقال: كانا في نقاب واحد: أي كانا مثلين ونظيرين.
And it is said: 'They were in one belly': meaning they were alike and similar.

An Arab came to him and said: 'I am on a camel that is weak, emaciated, and with worn-out hooves, and he asked for a ride. He thought him a liar and did not carry him. So he left saying: 'I swear by God, Abu Hafs Omar, it has not been touched by any wear or weakness.''
وليستأن بالنقب والظالع
And be gentle with the one with worn hooves and the lame.
فنقبت أقدامنا
And our feet became worn out.
ولقيته نقابا
And I met him face-to-face.
فناقبني فيه فلان نقابا
And so-and-so encountered me on that road unexpectedly.
وهي ضد المثلبة
And it is the opposite of a disgrace.
وجمعها المناقب، يقال: إنه لكريم المناقب، من النجدات وغيرها، وفي فلان مناقب جميلة: أي أخلاق حسنة.
And its plural is 'manaqib'. It is said: 'He is of noble deeds, from bravery and other things', and 'So-and-so has beautiful virtues': meaning good character.
والمنقبة: طريق ضيق بين دارين، لا يستطاع سلوكه.
And 'al-manqaba': a narrow path between two houses, which cannot be traversed.
ففسروا المنقبة (الحائط)
So they interpreted 'al-manqaba' as 'the wall'.
أنقابهن إلى حداء السوق
Their ears towards the calls of the market.
أنه اشتكى عينه، فكره أن ينقبها
That he complained of his eye, and disliked having it punctured.
وهو معالجة الماء الأسود الذي يحدث في العين.
And it is the treatment of the black cataract that occurs in the eye.
وهو يستر لونها بلون النقاب.
And it conceals her color with the color of the veil.
يسوقها ترعية ذو عباءة بما بين نقب فالحبيس فأفرعا
He drives them, a herdsman wearing a cloak, between Naqb and Al-Habis, then they ascend.
فسلك على نقب بني دينار، من بني النجار، ثم على فيفاء الخبار.
So he took the route of Bani Dinar, from Bani Al-Najjar, then across the plain of Al-Khobar.
ظعائن أسلكت نقب المنقى تحث إذا ونت أي احتثاث
Caravans that traversed the pass of Al-Munqa, urging on when they slowed down.
