And Badr Al-Damanhury transmitted it in the latter part of the discussion on metathesis in the explanation of Al-Tashil.
وحرره شيخنا في شرح الكافية في مبحث القلب: أنه إنما سمع النزب دون تصاريفه
And our Sheikh elaborated in the explanation of Al-Kafiya in the discussion on metathesis: that only nazab was heard without its derivations.
ولذالك حكموا عليه بأنه مقلوب من النبز؛ لأنه لو تصرفوا فيه، وبنوا منه الفعل، لصار أصلا مستقلا، وامتنع دعوى القلب، وحكم بالأصالة لكل منهما، كما قالوا في جبذ وجذب
And for that reason, they ruled that it is a metathesis of nabz; because if they had derived from it and formed the verb, it would have become an independent root, and the claim of metathesis would be impossible, and originality would be established for each of them, as they said regarding jabadha and jadhabha.
