وقالوا شياه لجبات، فحركوا الأوسط، لاءن من العرب من يقول: شاة لجبة، فإنما جاؤوا بالجمع على هاذا.

And they said 'shiyah lajabat' (sheep with scarce milk), so they vocalized the middle letter, because some Arabs say: 'shatah lajabah', so they brought the plural based on this.

و عن الأصمعي: إذا أتى على الشاة بعد نتاجها أربعة أشهر، فجف لبنها وقل، فهي لجاب.

And from Al-Asma'i: If four months have passed for a sheep after its birth, and its milk has dried up and become scarce, then it is 'lajab'.

وقد لجبت ككرم لجوبة، (و) يجوز (لجبت تلجيبا)

And it became 'lajaba' like 'karuma' (became generous) with 'lajubah' (loudness), and it is permissible (it became 'lajaba' with 'taljiban' - becoming scarce of milk).

A man said to him: I bought a sheep from this man, and I did not find any milk in it, so Shurayh said to him: Perhaps it has become 'lajabah' (scarce of milk).

والملجاب: سهم ريش ولم ينصل بعد، والجمع الملاجيب.

And 'al-miljab': an arrow that is feathered but not yet nocked, and the plural is 'al-malajib'.
