The date 'ṣulb' (becomes hard) when it reaches dryness, so it is 'muṣallab', with a kasra.
فإذا صب عليه الدبس ليلين فهو مصقر.
And when date syrup is poured on it to soften it, it is called 'muṣaqqar'.
إذ بلغ الرطب اليبيس فذلك التصليب، وقد صلب.
When the date reaches dryness, that is 'taṣlīb', and it has become 'ṣalaba'.
