وَقِيلَ: هُوَ طِيبُ نَكْهَتِهَا
And it was said: it is the pleasantness of their scent.
فَأَخَذَ حَبَّةَ رُمَّانٍ وَأَوْمَأَ إِلَى بَصِيصِهَا
So he took a pomegranate seed and gestured to its sheen.
فَهُوَ شَانِبٌ أَيْ عَلَى غَيْرِ قِيَاسٍ وَشَنِيبٌ وَأَشْنَبُ
So he is shānab, meaning not according to analogy, and shanīb and ashnob.
وَهُوَ الأَكْثَرُ فِي السَّمَاعِ وَالاسْتِعْمَالِ
And it is the most common in hearing and usage.
