Ali bin Ishkab al-Husayn bin Ibrahim bin al-Hasan bin Zalan al-Amiri, the teacher of Abu Bakr bin Abi al-Dunya, brother of Muhammad; they were traditionists like their father.
والدهما، روى عن عبد الرحمن بن أي الزناد وحماد بن زيد وشريك، وعنه ابنه محمد وغيره
Their father, he narrated from Abd al-Rahman bin Ayaz al-Zinad, Hammad bin Zayd, and Shurayk, and his son Muhammad and others narrated from him.
توفي سنة 216 ه
He died in the year 216 AH.
محمد بن إشكاب هذا أخرج حديثه البخاري في المناقب
Bukhari included the hadith of this Muhammad bin Ishkab in the 'Manaqib' (Virtues).
