As for the J'abah, it is wide at its top and tapered at its bottom, and its top is widened so that the feathers of the arrows do not get disheveled, because they are placed upside down in the J'abah, so their shafts are at the bottom, and its top is flattened near the feathers, and both are made from two halves of wood.
وجعبها: صنعها
And Ja'aba-ha: means to make it (the quiver).
والجعاب: صانعها أي الجعاب
And al-Ja'ab: means its maker, i.e., the maker of the quivers.
والجعابة: صناعته أي الجعاب بالتشديد
And al-Ja'abah: means its craft, i.e., the craft of making quivers (with shaddah).
تقول: نكبوا الجعاب وسكبوا النشاب
You say: They overturned the quivers and poured out the arrows.
