And Nasa' (pronounced like Jabal), with a hamza, is a town in Khurasan, from which hailed the author of the Sunan, Imam al-Hafiz Abu Abd al-Rahman Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb al-Nasa'i, who died in the year 330.
وَكُلُّ سَمِينٍ نَاسِئٌ
And every fat animal is 'nasi'.
وَإِذَا رَمَيْتُمْ فَانْتَسُوا عَنِ البُيُوتِ
And when you shoot, move away from the houses.
وَقِيلَ: تُنْسَأُ المَرْأَةُ وَذَلِكَ عِنْدَ أَوَّلِ حَبْلِهَا، وَذَلِكَ إِذَا تَأَخَّرَ حَيْضُهَا عَنْ وَقْتِهِ المُعْتَادِ لِأَجْلِ الحَمْلِ فَرُجِيَ أَنَّهَا حُبْلَى
And it is said: a woman is 'nasi' at the beginning of her pregnancy, which is when her menstruation is delayed from its usual time due to the pregnancy, and it is hoped she is pregnant.
وَهِيَ امْرَأَةٌ نِسْءٌ
And she is a woman with delayed menstruation.
