The Illuminated Arabic Reader is a study tool. We are grateful to the authors, publishers, ministries of education, and foundations whose works make this library possible, and we respect their rights. None of these books is exclusive to this site — each is freely available from its publisher, as noted below. What we offer is the study material built around them: verb tables, noun tables, line-by-line translation, and flashcards on every page. Public-domain works are presented under their original terms; copyrighted works are used for study and, where required, shown as preview only.

The story books in our library — the classic tales, biographies, and translated literature on the Children's shelf — are drawn from the public-domain Arabic editions generously published by the Hindawi Foundation. Our sincere thanks to Hindawi for its extraordinary work making Arabic literature freely available to every reader; all such works remain under their original public-domain terms, with full credit to the Foundation's editions. Every title can be downloaded free from hindawi.org — what we add is the study layer on top.
